These details are drawn from the Real Estate Institute monthly reports for Fenruary 2010, and focus only on farm sales - excluding lifestyle blocks.

The market recorded only 66 sales, which is one third of the average for a February over the past few years, and -12% below the same month a year ago, and is obly 40% of the average February level for th epast 5 years. The median price was up very slightly at $1,045,000.

February sales included:
    3 arable farm
  11 dairy farms
  10 finishing units
  30 grazing properties
    7 horticultural, and
    5 farms of other types

The number of sales is presented here, without the average price, because average prices bounce around dramatically depending on the size and type of business unit being sold.
